Your Questions About Pain Between Shoulder Blades After Eating

Ken asks…
Pain between my shoulder blades?
I have had pain between my shoulder blades for about six months now. The pain ranges from moderate to severe and occurs at different times throughout the day. It seems to happen most often after I have eaten. Does anyone know what this could be a symptom of?
I am a healthy 22 year old female.
admin answers:
Aaaaahhh I can tell you exactly what you have.
Because I have it too ….and finally went to the Dr
with it.
You have “acid reflux” or GERDS.
You should go out and buy yourself some Zantac.
You can go to the Dr and get all the testing …but
I am sure it will be the same.

David,
If your father is experiencing chest pain and it has never happened before, he needs to be seen by a doctor as soon as possible. The best solution to the problem is to call 911 and have paramedics take him to the hospital. Anytime somebody says that they are having chest pain, it needs to be taken very seriously, it could be a sign of a serious medical emergency.

Lisa asks…
Still have same symptoms after gallbladder surgery anybody else?
I’m 5 days after gallbladder surgery, I’ve been very careful what I eat. Today I drank a small amount of coffee/decaf with non dairy creamer and about 2 hrs later I had the same old symptoms, belching ,sharp stabbing pain between my shoulder blades and abdominal pain , anybody else have their symptoms not change after surgery?
admin answers:
I think it’s too early after surgery for you to expect your pain to have gone. Belching is not due to gall bladder disease so that is not likely to get better.
Of course it is possible that your symptoms were due to a hiatus hernia or something else but give it some time before you look for other things.

William asks…
Stomach pains.. Think it’s gallbladder. HELP.?
Hello!! Ok so for the past month or so, I have been having severe abdominal cramping, bloating, and a full feeling. I also feel worse after eating, especially junk food or fatty foods. I am nauseous 24/7 and sometimes, I can’t keep my food down. My tummy is usually flat, but it’s poking out like I am a few months pregnant. But I am definitely not pregnant, I know for a fact!
Anyways, I went to the ER rigth when it started happening because it was freaking me out. They did tests on my liver, gallbladder, and all other organs in my tummy. Liver was fine, they said my enzymes were like that of a child. And my gallbladder came back normal to. Well I got referred to get an upper endoscopy and it came back that I have a small hiatal hernia. Since it’s small, it shouldn’t be giving me too many problems.
A lot of people in my family have gallbladder issues, and my great grandmothers have had them out and my grandmother needs hers out too. I have read through countless forums and articles and my symptoms match up pretty well with gallbladder issues.. I also read that your ultrasound will come back fine because all that will tell is if there’s gallstones. I am really confused and waiting for the doctor to set up a hida scan for me.
I am in a lot of pain right now, but don’t want to be doped up on pain meds because I know that many teenagers and adults get hooked on them and I don’t want that happening to me. I don’t know what to do though because I don’t think the hospital can do anything more for me since I am waiting for that hida scan.. I have also been experiencing chest pain and my chest hurts like there’s bruises on it even though I don’t have any. It hurts to push on it. And sometimes, my arm bothers me. Also some back pain between my shoulder blades on the rigth side.
Anways, I guess what I am asking is if you could share yours or your family’s gallbladder issues, symptoms, and experiences with me and tell me if this sounds like I have something wrong with my gallbladder. I’ll list my symptoms again as well.
Stomach bloating
Diahreeah
Nausea
Pain in my chest and arm
Loss of appetite
Upper right abdominal pain and tenderness
My stomach is very hard when you press (not constipated)
Uncomfortable back pain between my shoulder blades
Wheeeew. That’s a lot. I really appreciate anybody who reads this and responds to me.
Thanks so much.

It does sound very much like a gall bladder problem. I had all the same symptoms and had my gall bladder removed 8 years ago.

Mandy asks…
Heartburn, back pain and vomiting during pregnancy?
Hello everyone. I’m looking for a little bit of advice. Last night I went to bed around 1130 with a headache. It wasn’t anything bad, just a bit of a nuisance and enough to make it difficult to fall asleep. At around 1:30 I woke up with terrible back pain in my upper back between my shoulder blades. There was also a rush of heartburn that seemed to come out of nowhere. I got up to sit on the couch in hopes that sitting up would make it better. But, as soon as I did I immediately had to throw up. After I threw up the heartburn seemed to go away, but the back pain has persisted to a lesser degree than when it first started throughout the course of the morning today. I can’t really think of anything that I did differently yesterday other than I ate dinner later than I normally do because I had a meeting until late last night. I only threw up once and I didn’t feel the need to again after that. Baby Cameron has been moving around a lot and he seems to be fine. I’m feeling a lot better other than the pain between my shoulder blades. I know that this isn’t a gallbladder thing because I had my gallbladder removed over three years ago. I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this. I’m hoping that it’s an isolated incident and not something that’s going to happen again. I’m just looking for some advice, and wondering if any of you have been through this. I apologize for the gross details of the story, but I really appreciate your help. I am 23 weeks pregnant and this is my first baby so my experience is limited. Thank you all!
I have looked up things online about pregnancy symptoms… I just wanted to hear other people’s experiences, and to know if anyone else had been through it. I haven’t had caffeine for years so I know it’s not that, and I never eat fried food. I just haven’t had any heartburn thus far in my pregnancy at all, and to have such a crazy incident the first time took me by surprise.

Charles asks…
Can anybody provide me with a list of gallbladder issue symptoms? Greatly appreciated..?
I have been experiencing the following symptoms..
Extremely bloated stomach that feels hard on the upper right side
Sharp pain that comes and goes on upper right side
Constant nausea and sometimes vomiting
Pain after eating certain foods (high in fat, hot dogs, anything greasy)
Mulitcolored stools (gross, i know)
Chest pain that leaves my chest sore to touch afterwards
No fever but sometimes feeling very warm to touch
Back pain between my shoulder blades mostly to the right
EXTREMELY dry skin on my upper stomach. (i don’t know if that has anything to do with it.)
I have been to the ER once with this problem. Had an ultrasound that came back negative for gall stones and was referred to GI dr. Had upper endoscopy and found small hiatal hernia. I am awaiting another dr to set up hida scan but the attacks have been getting much worse and more frequent.
Is there anything they can do for me at the hospital without the hida scan? I am just looking for a list of symptoms from somebody who has experienced gallbladder disease or family members who have. I appreciate it so much. I am so helpless and hopeless… I can’t eat a lot and feel malnourished because I am restricted to what I can eat.
Thank you so much for anybody who takes the time to respond.
